Terms of Use

By accessing or using Echoes, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 years old to use Echoes.

Echoes lets people share anonymous public thoughts, replies, reactions, and private messages using broad location context. The service is provided for community conversation, not as a crisis, emergency, medical, legal, financial, or professional advice service.

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Echoes a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, display, distribute, and process that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

You are responsible for what you post or send. Do not share information that violates another person’s privacy or that you do not have the right to share.

You may not use Echoes to:

• Threaten, harass, stalk, target, impersonate, or encourage harm toward another person.
• Publish doxxing, exact addresses, private contact details, or accusations that identify a private person.
• Share illegal content, non-consensual intimate material, exploitation, spam, scams, or malicious links.
• Attempt to access another user’s account or private messages, scrape the service, or interfere with its operation.
• Evade blocks, abuse reports, or use multiple identities to intimidate or manipulate people.

Echoes may review reports, remove content, limit features, suspend anonymous identities, or terminate accounts when needed to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these terms. Reports are review-only by default; blocks immediately personalize the blocker’s experience and stop private messaging.

We do not promise that every report will result in removal or that every piece of harmful content will be detected. If there is an immediate risk of harm, contact local emergency services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how content, anonymous identifiers, optional account information, messages, reports, and approximate location information are handled. Exact coordinates are not shown publicly, but you should still avoid posting identifying details.

Echoes may change, pause, or discontinue features and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or that content will always be displayed in a particular order.

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an updated version is posted means you accept the revised terms. If a change is material, we will update the date and provide notice where reasonably possible.

Echoes is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Echoes is not responsible for user-generated content, user interactions, service interruptions, or indirect losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
